
Dr. Richard Cimpl is responsible for bringing orthopedic care to Columbus, opening his orthopedic and sports medicine clinic in 1983. A South Dakota native, Dr. Cimpl lived in Columbus before beginning his medical school training at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha. Following completion of his orthopedic residency at St. Louis University Hospitals, Dr. Cimpl returned to Columbus and established the first and, to date, only orthopedic practice in the community.
Dr. Cimpl uses advanced medical techniques including computer-assisted technology for hip and knee replacement surgery. He also provides contemporary sports medicine care including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, and upper and lower extremity care along with trauma orthopedic services.
