Hand and wrist treatment

Top care for hand injuries in Columbus, NE

We use our hands so often in daily life, we sometimes take them for granted. Our hands and wrists help us write, cook, work, communicate on our phones and … well, do just about everything. But what happens when it hurts to use your hands? Or when you suffer an injury, and you can’t use them at all?

Columbus Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic has providers who specialize in treating the hand and wrist. Kerri Kulovitz, MD has received special training in this area, and she will work with you to determine the best course of action to get you back to living a normal life.

Our services

We treat patients of all ages, from infants to athletes suffering from a sports injury to senior citizens. If your problem is below the elbow, we can help you solve it. We treat:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Cubital tunnel syndrome
  • Trauma
  • Broken bones
  • Trigger finger – a condition in which one of the fingers becomes stuck in a bent position
  • Arthritis
  • Conditions related to nerve damage
  • Degenerative wear-and-tear conditions

When you come to Columbus Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic with a hand or wrist problem, Dr. Kulovitz will take your history, perform a physical examination and discuss the specific problem. Then, she will take X-rays in the office and determine the best method of treatment. Treatment can include medication, bracing, injections and possibly surgery, but the most pivotal part of treatment is occupational therapy. Dr. Kulovitz works closely with local occupational therapists to help patients return to their prior level of function.
